Lynda.com- Free access to Flash Catalyst traning Videos

If you want to get to grips with Flash Catalyst be sure to checkout the link below - Lynda.com now has a free section of video tutorials on Flash Catalyst.

I have not personally gone through these but if they are anything like the scores of video tutorials on Flex, Drupal, etc that I been through - these should be awesome.

The Quest for a Flex Framework

I have been looking into frameworks for Flex recently - you will find tons of blog posts around the frameworks out there.

The most useful post I have found thusfar can be found at the Adobe Developer Connection site - http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/articles/flex_framework.html

The article outlines the most popular frameworks available currently i.e.
- Cairngorm
- Mate
- PureMVC
- Swiz

Personally I am stuck between Swiz and Mate - I am going to go with Mate first though because it has more documentation then Swiz.

I will let you know what I think once I have given it a go.

Book Review - Getting Started with Flex 3 by Jack D. Herrington & Emily Kim (O'Reilly)

A very handy book for anyone interested in learning Flex 3. This little book is packed full of examples to show you what Flex is capable of and loads of snippets to get you coding in no time.

A quick read (for those of you with little time to spare) that gets you well acquainted with the Flex controls.

The Projects in the book take you from adding drop shadows on photos to accessing web services and the final chapter on Resources for Flex developers will provide you with enough info to continue on to becoming the Flex master you know you want to be ;)
